Who We ServeThe Inspiration Behind Fedelta
Steve Meyer, Fedelta's founder and CEO, knows his life's purpose is to help others care for their aging family members at home.

As a young boy, Steve saw his family struggle to care for his beloved Italian grandmother, Theresa. While everyone wanted to keep her at home, they were simply overwhelmed by the task. At that time, Steve's family had no choice but to place Theresa in a nursing home.

"My family and my grandmother were heartbroken. It was not the solution anyone wanted," Steve recalls. "My grandmother and I were very close, and I wished I could do something to help her stay at home. Sadly, she lived in a nursing home the last 18 months of her life."

After college, Steve became an expert in organizational development, and built a highly successful career helping Fortune 500 companies. But he always felt something was missing. "My work was not personally fulfilling," he explains. "My experience with my grandmother had always stuck with me, and I felt strongly pulled toward home care."

Steve took steps toward purchasing a home care franchise. But the company's training program convinced him that a chain was not for him. "The personal and business principles I believe in are at odds with the franchise way of doing things," he explains. "I realized I wanted to start my own company."

Steve Meyer created Fedelta in 2004, with the goal of offering a better way for aging people to live at home for as long as possible, and to live their way. Fedelta has grown steadily since then, expanding its services and offerings. The company's name honors Steve's grandmother, Theresa. "Fedelta is an Italian word that means trust, care and compassion," he explains. "It's a tribute to my grandmother, and it describes the way we do business. It's what you can expect from me and everyone who works for our company."
