You're Invited to the Everett Grand Opening Party Jan 19 12-1pm

You're invited to the Everett Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony  January 19 from 12-1pm.  Join us for a light lunch and door prizes!

Everett, Wash. –  Fedelta Care Solutions, a local, privately owned home care services company, is expanding into Snohomish County, and on January 19 will open a new branch office at 2707 Colby Ave., Suite 1118, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from noon to 1pm. Fedelta also has offices in Seattle and Bellevue, and will open a new office in Tacoma in the spring of 2011.

According to Fedelta President and CEO Steve Meyer, the demand for home care services in Snohomish County has increased nearly 38 percent in the past 12 months. Fedelta’s expansion includes the initial hiring of 22 additional care providers to serve clients in the county, plus four administrative staff members.

“While the economy in general is struggling, there is an increased demand for the particular services Fedelta offers,” Meyer said. “Life expectancies in the U.S. continue to rise, with women now living an average of 80 years and men about 74 years. In the next 30 years, the number of Americans over 65 will double to 70 million.”

Meyer added that 80 percent of the elderly prefer to remain living in their own homes, yet currently, nearly 13 million Americans of all ages need help from others to carry out everyday activities. And the cost of limited care at home is about 60 percent of the cost of care in an institution or medical facility.

Additionally, hospital stays for surgery patients are roughly half the length they were 10 years ago. “As sky-rocketing healthcare and insurance costs rush patients out of the hospital and they must recover at home, that also increases the demand for in-home healthcare services,” Meyer said.

Meyer added that the weak housing market is also contributing to a greater need for in-home care. “Many seniors who just a few years ago would have sold their home and moved into an assisted living community don’t want to sell their homes today. Instead, some are opting for in-home care until the residential real estate market improves.”

Fedelta Care Solutions employs registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nurses’ assistants for in-home care. It also employs non-medical companion caregivers. “Many of our clients need just some help around the house, and assistance with their errands and getting to appointments,” Meyer said. “We find that healthy, active senior citizens often make ideal companion caregivers.”

Meyer founded Fedelta Care Solutions in 2004 as a home care services company. The company has grown and expanded since then, and today is the only local company to offer a full range of integrated care solutions including:

Home care. Companionship, bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders, meal planning and assistance, light housekeeping, transportation, and errands.

Nursing care. Nurse delegation, medication management, vital signs, glucose monitoring, post-surgical care, range of motion exercise, and simple dressings.

Professional care management. Care plans and goal setting, facility monitoring and advocacy, insurance and entitlement benefits, oversight of private caregivers, referrals to specialists, and family mediation.

Senior housing referrals. Regular and meticulous prescreening of facilities, client needs assessment, preference identification, budget and benefits, housing type selection, personal one-on-one community tours, and move-in assistance.

Fedelta Care Solutions was awarded the Better Business Bureau’s prestigious “Service Provider of the Year” award for Western Washington in 2004, and has always earned an “A” rating from the BBB. Its screening and hiring practices are the most stringent in the industry: fewer than 10 percent of caregiver applicants are hired. Fedelta and its professional caregivers serve families and individuals throughout King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. For more information, visit www.fedeltacaresolutions.com
