About Fedelta Home Care
- Who is Fedelta Home Care?
“Fedelta” is Italian for “trust and care”. We are a local, privately held company designed to deliver a comprehensive approach to home services for individuals of all ages. In the formation of our company, we based our business model on data gathered by healthcare professionals, recipients of home care services, and caregivers. Our team is comprised of Registered Nurses, Care Managers, Human Resource Professionals, Accredited Healthcare Professionals, Certified/Registered Nursing Assistants and Companion Caregivers.
- What geographic areas do you serve?
Fedelta Home Care serves King, Pierce, Kitsap, and Snohomish counties. We have a strong presence in each of these areas and our caregiver community is growing rapidly in all these counties.
- Where is your office & what are your office hours?
We have offices in Bellevue and Seattle, Washington. Our office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We are on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Our team is able to assist you with immediate care needs, last minute care plan changes, changes in schedules, and increase/decrease of hours.

- How does Home Care differ from Home Health Care?
Often, the terms Home Care and Home Health Care are used interchangeably to refer to a wide range of services provided to individuals in their home. These services might be as simple as housecleaning and companionship or as complex as assisting with all aspects of daily living, including medication administration. At Fedelta, we use “Home Care” to mean any personal care services provided in the home. This is different from “Home Health Care” services, which refers to special healthcare services provided by our licenses nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists.
- What is nurse delegation and do I need an RN to provide hourly care?
Nurse delegation is a special arrangement made between a Registered Nurse (RN) and your caregiver that allows the caregiver to perform certain tasks that would otherwise require a nurse. Oral medication assistance is just one example of a task that could be delegated to a caregiver by a registered nurse. There are tasks that cannot be delegated, such as IV medication administration or injections; a RN would be required to perform these duties.

Payment Options for Home Care Services
- How much do your services cost? Our rates are determined at the time of your assessment. (See Getting Started.) Each client has different needs, and your rate is specific to the care we will provide for you. Feel free to contact us and speak to one of our Care Managers to get a rate range based on basic information we gather from you initially.
- Are your services covered by insurance? Many long-term care insurance policies do offer full or partial reimbursement for in-home assistance by an appropriately licensed home care company such as Fedelta Home Care. We can send your insurance company the necessary information for them to determine if our services are reimbursable under your insurance contract. Also, we can submit ongoing documentation to your insurance company to maintain benefits or reimbursements.
- Does Medicare pay for caregiver services? Medicare is a government program with very strict guidelines. Eligibility is determined by your physician. Since Fedelta Home Care provides private pay services only, our services are considered supplemental services to those covered under Medicare.
- Do you accept Medicaid/Medicare? Fedelta Home Care is a private pay organization. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and long-term care insurance. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid

How do I start Home Care Services?
- How do I start? To begin the process, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment in either the home or in the current hospital or care facility. Please visit Getting Started for a complete overview of the process.
- How soon can you start? Once a service agreement has been signed, we can typically begin care within 24 hours. Depending on the time-of-day, location of service and skills required of a caregiver, we may ask for your flexibility.
- Is there a minimum number of hours required? Yes. Our services can be arranged for as little as 4 hours per shift and as many as 24 hours per day.
- Do I have to sign a contract for a set length of time? No. We do have a standard service agreement that the client or his/her responsible party must sign prior to service. It is not a contract in that it does not specify a specific number of hours or days of service. It does show that we have agreed to certain service stipulations including price and protection of Fedelta Home Care in retaining its employees. This contract for services may be terminated with a 4-hour advance notice.
- What if things change after I've signed a service agreement? Maybe more hours or a higher level of care is required? Please contact the Fedelta Home Care office as soon as possible. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and responsiveness. We will adjust services as needed, very quickly. We understand needs can change without notice and companionship services can quickly change to skilled nursing services
- How do I know my confidentiality is protected? We maintain strict confidentiality policies and adhere to HIPAA guidelines. All of our employees sign confidentiality statements to protect you and Fedelta. Additionally, our employees are trained on HIPAA guidelines regularly.
- How will I be kept “in-the-know” about the condition of my loved one? All caregivers are required to keep an “Observation Log” daily. A copy of this log is kept in a Fedelta Home Care binder in the home, and another copy is sent to our office each week. When there are changes in client’s condition, our caregivers are instructed to contact Fedelta Home Care immediately. We will contact the family. Managing the care of our clients is an ongoing part of our routine, and we are happy to discuss the condition or care of your loved one at any time.

About Fedelta Caregivers
- How can I be sure my caregiver is honest & trustworthy?
Fedelta Home Care prides itself on our in-depth screening process by going beyond the minimal state requirements for hiring employees. We hire less than 10% of all applicants interviewed. All applicants are subject to skill testing, competency testing, written and verbal abilities, Washington State and National background searches, structured interview screening, behavioral interviewing, credential validation, and more. When hired, employees are also required to attend a company orientation which details policies/procedures, safety training, emergency response, etc. All employees are bonded and insured by Fedelta Home Care. We employee all caregivers and for safety purposes, do not hire contractors – this is a big difference compared to many other home care agencies.
- Can I choose to interview the prospective caregivers?
Yes. Fedelta Home Care prides itself in taking the extra time required to make quality matches between caregivers and clients, however, we also acknowledge that providing care in the home is very personal and that individual preferences vary. If you would like to meet with your caregiver prior to beginning service, we are happy to make those arrangements.
- Do I pay the caregiver directly?
No. The caregivers provided by Fedelta Home Care are, and always remain, employees of Fedelta Home Care. The benefit of using Fedelta Home Care to identify a caregiver for you is that Fedelta assumes all responsibility for staffing, payments, insurance, taxes, business licensure and benefit/payroll costs. Therefore all arrangements for services, including payment, will be handled through our office.
- What if I don’t like one of the caregivers from Fedelta?
Please contact the Fedelta Home Care office as soon as possible. Satisfaction is paramount to the success of our business. If you’re not happy with our service, we will make it “right” by making the situation whole. That is our commitment.
- Are caregivers supervised while working?
Caregivers are routinely supervised by our care managers and registered nurses and unannounced visits are conducted routinely. Caregivers are required to complete detailed narrative notes and observations logs tracking trends, patterns, successes and challenges of the care process. Questions or complaints are to be raised to our Care Managers and/or Administrator. Problems are researched and resolved promptly in accordance with our company policies & procedures.
- Can you provide care in the setting of a nursing home or assisted living community?
Yes. Many times the needs of our clients exceed the level of care a home or community can provide. Fedelta has placed many caregivers in nursing homes and assisted living communities throughout the region. No matter what the setting, Fedelta Home Care is able to provide quality care from professional caregivers.
- Can I choose to hire a Fedelta caregiver directly?
Yes. You do have the option to employ your caregivers directly. This option can result in potential cost savings. Fedelta Home Care will charge you a referral fee for each employee you hire. If you choose to employ your caregivers, you are responsible for all applicable payroll taxes, workers compensation and other insurances. Additionally, the scheduling and supervision becomes your responsibility. Our office staff can more fully explain the benefits as well as the responsibilities when you are the employer.
