Alzheimer's & Dementia
Fedelta's Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants receive specialized education and training to care for patients with Alzheimer's and dementia. You can relax, knowing your loved one is with a skilled professional who is also compassionate and respectful.
Dementia is a neurological disorder that affects a person's ability to think, speak, reason, remember and move. While Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia, many other conditions can cause similar symptoms. Some of these disorders get worse with time and cannot be cured, while other types respond well to treatment. Depending on the cause, some dementia symptoms can be improved and even reversed.
Our Registered Nurses and Certified Care Managers are experienced in assessing patients with dementia. They design specialized care plans that meet a client's emotional and physical needs — and improve their condition if possible. Families are kept closely "in the loop" concerning changes in behavior and care plans. Patients with dementia are regularly reassessed by our registered nurses, who directly oversee Fedelta's caregivers.
Fedelta's caregivers are specially trained to deal with the various behaviors of dementia, including agitation, aggression, paranoia and Sundowners syndrome — and do so in a calm and loving way. They maintain a safe environment, manage changing behaviors, provide nutritious meals, provide mind-stimulating activities, create social interactions, reduce frustrations, and supervise daily activities. Our caregivers identify and report any changes in symptoms to their supervising Care Manager.
