Matt has been involved in healthcare since 1998. After joining the U.S. Army as a combat medic he worked his way through both LPN and RN programs between deployments and also worked as a nurse in several critical care environments. His primary areas of emphasis in nursing over the past 10 years have been case management and population health, clinical quality and leadership roles. Most recently, he served as the Director of Nursing and Clinical Operations at a home health company were he helped them to grow from a team of one into a Joint Commission accredited home health and home care provider.
Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and their eight amazing children in the mountains, watching and playing soccer, and playing music together. He writes literary fiction on the side and take classes here and there at the Hugo House.
